The first and main time I was truly exposed to entrepreneurship was when I met my step dad, and learned about his life. In his younger years, he was working for a small AC company which did work at various malls and restaurants. After years of working at a decent, but not very large wage, he came across an opportunity. One mall he had done work for came to him, and said they would not be renewing their AC with the company he was working at. They instead offered him the opportunity to totally take over the AC at the mall and do the work himself. It was at this moment that he decided to change his life and start his own AC company, Certified Energy Service. This is a company he still works tirelessly to manage and run today, and one that I hopefully will be able to manage one day as well.
Additionally, a main reason I enrolled in this class is because one day I hope to run my own business. While I'm not sure what it will be or when it will happen, I want to develop an entrepreneurship mindset which seeks out opportunities, rather than waiting for them to knock on my doorstep.
