I believe there is a big need in the fitness industry for an app which connects networks of people, mostly through the form of strength/sport coaching, and personal training.
The who- Personal coaches and trainers, and potential clients.
The what- Offer a subscription service to trainers and coaches in exchange for being able to use my app to gain clients. Clients browse the app for the trainer which best suites their needs and cost.
The why- Finding a personal trainer can be a little difficult right now, and having an app which connects them with clients would make it much easier both on the consumer end and on the trainers end.
Hypothesis- I believe theres a significant amount of personal trainers who would use an app that markets to local individuals in their area, in exchange for a monthly fee. I also believe a large amount of individuals who play sports, lift weights, or want to get in shape that would use my app to find trainers.
Interviews- In my interviews I found that while most of the people I personally talked to said they wouldn't use the app themselves, they said that they clearly see the potential and think there would be a significant amount of people who would use it. A couple people said that the first step would be getting the personal trainers in the door, which I agree with. I thought this could be solved with a limited time offer of 1-3 months free for the trainers. I was also told that sports coaches wouldn't be a large market since there are already networks connecting sports trainers, whether it be college athletics, or local athletics. For this reason I've decided to gear my app more specifically toward strength training and regular personal trainers.
Hey Nick!
ReplyDeleteDue to things like social media, personal training and even just fitness it general has grown tremendously in popularity and I think that a networking app for the groups of people interested in being trained or gaining more clients would be a super useful addition to the growing social media presence of fitness. Having the app be helpful for both trainers and trainees broadens the aimed customer pool and I think could help the app be super successful!
Hey Nick,
ReplyDeleteI believe that your idea is great and an opportunity does in fact exist. I know a ton of people who would download this app. Personal trainers would also love this app as it is a great means of exposure for them and could possibly get them more customers. In the age of social media, I think that this app would be very successful.
Hi Nick, I really enjoyed reading your post because I have been trying to get back into the gym myself. Coming up with workouts is difficult and it would help a lot if I had a trainer who knew my needs. The app would be convenient to use. Also, I do believe this opportunity exist because many people have this problem and would love to download the app. Thanks for sharing. Great job!
